i don't feel very much motivated to do anything creative. i want to, but laziness brings me to a halt. i bought a portable garment rack yesterday, as i don't have my own closet in my secluded room downstairs. now all i need (yes, need) is a garment steamer. i don't know about anyone else, but ironing is a huge annoyance for me. i currently don't iron anything of mine, and feel really bad going anywhere with crinkly clothes. apparel just looks that much better when it's in smooth appearance. so much better. i had vitabrits for breakfast with honey and milk. was planning on spending some time outside to build up some colour on my pastey skin. i also very much desire a jaffle maker. the options of jaffle sandwiches are endless! i still love classic tin spaghetti.

i think i may just hop skip over to big w right now and do just that. get me a jaffle maker! so long, happy thursday x

life is pretty fab lately. God has been an incredibly great Father. have met so many new people from church and it's such an amazing feeling. i recently bought coconut oil, to use as a body lotion. i've heard it's really good for you and so far so good! it is a little like using tanning oil, but somehow not as greasy. it just leaves your skin feeling nice and supple. and unfortunately i've started to get the dreadful psoriasis! so hopefully this coconut oil helps with that. i have been really inspired to do some interior decorating/design and just homeware in general. i've always loved interior design. it would probably have to be a dream job of mine. wherever i go i look at the architectural design of places, the set up and everything. i love photography but i just don't see myself using it as a profession, rather just a favourite past time. although it would be lots of fun to do photoshoots and travel. my sister moves to brisbane next week, it's going to be weird coming home from work to a whole room and queen bed to myself. is that weird? i like having alone time. but being downstairs all by my lonesome at night will be daunting. i like sleepovers! i love love love the sweatshop. they are so mighty fine. plus they have amazing jaffles. PLUS they don't charge you extra for soy milk or extra fillings for your jaffles. how sweet is that? and $4 for a large coffee is just a bargain i say. if you are ever in townsville perchance, go there. you won't be let down. it's the cutest most hipster cafe in townsville in my opinion. ok enough raving about sweatshop. i'm enjoying my couple of days off, scored bargains at target this morning and went for lie-down out in the sun to get my much-needed vitamin d intake (pastey mcpaste paste), ate a delicious kensington pride mango and now not too sure. be a good girl and clean my room maybe. anywho. happy thursday!

i picked up this camera at salvo's this afternoon for $3. it's a panoramic too! so i am pretty excited to test it out and see how it turns out. i looked it up and there were photos on flickr. and this is the only album i could find: here. it looks pretty good though, so hopefully it goes great. will post them when i can, if they're decent.

i'm a bit disappointed with my diana f+, it does not like the 35mm back. photos turn out really shoddy and unimpressive. does anyone else (that has a diana with the 35mm back) have the same problem? and the fisheye doesn't really work either with the 35 back. but no where develops 120 film unless you get it sent away, such a hassle. plus it's pricey :( i really really really hope my yashica electro doesn't wreck this roll of film i am hoping to develop once finished.

would anyone be interested in being a pen pal with me? i would really like that i think :) if anyone wants to, send an e-mail to whimsicaldaydreams (at) hotmail.com :)

How cute is this family?!?

I got a free small coffee coupon from McDonald's. Think I may walk down there and redeem my coupon. Go to Stockland, have a look-see in Woolworths and walk back home. Been really thinking about what I should do with my hair. Not that it's an important dilemma. But I need a hair cut. A few inches may be needed to come off.. I don't want short hair though, my hair takes forever to grow and I want to grow it forever and ever. I'm never dying my hair again including bleach. I am thinking of getting a front fringe again. Next week anyway that'll happen.

The past few days I've been going on walks, and I'm super glad I can finally stick with something like this again. I wish I had my bicycle here so I could go on rides but it's with my parents on the other side of the state so, maybe not. Plus I have been eating healthily, I went to Coles yesterday to get some baked beans, and compared the salt reduced to the normal ones, and the salt reduced are lower in fat, sugar and salt in comparison to the normal ones, PLUS have more protein. That's awesome. They were on special for $1 too so I bought 3 cans. I also got a loaf of wholemeal bread. I love baked beans on toast. I've been drinking loads of water the past couple of days too so that's good, because some days I forget to even drink water. How crazy.

I have been really wanting to use up my camera's films so I can develop them. I'm really impatient when it comes to that but I just don't have much I think of taking photos of, and when I do I don't have a camera on me.

Yesterday was really productive, I went for a walk (I woke up late - 11am so I thought I should start my day off doing something good for myself), had a shower, vacuumed my car out, washed the outside of my car, bought said baked beans and bread, drank heaps of water and went off to work! I love days where I actually do stuff because then by the end of the day I don't feel like butt. Even going to work isn't so bad :) I always dread going to work, but when I get there and start, I don't know why I was dreading it so much. Plus this week I work every night except for Wednesday night, my first week of decent hours! So blessed right now. God has been treating me greatly, and he's putting things together just perfectly for me. Which reminds me, church Sunday morning and night was just amazing. It was extra cool because one of my sister's friends wanted to come along too (who doesn't normally attend church) so yeah, was awesome. I feel great there, when everyone stands up, lifts up their arms and sing worship to our Lord. The Holy Sprit flows in and out of everyone of us.

I have a huge list of different types of film I want to buy and try out. A BIG long list haha. I will buy some, at a time, and test them all out for myself.

My friend is pregnant, and in just 2 weeks she can find out the sex of the baby! I'm so excited for her, and I'm just so excited all 'round because God is amazing, He created us perfectly. Plus the whole pregnancy journey is just insanely amazing and magical. I can't wait to see baby, March 13th!

Hello. I haven't updated this blog is quite some time. I've finally been starting to get more shifts at work, so more pay - which I'm desperate for. I'm trying to be as frugal as possible. I have an addiction to buying Kodak disposables though, and film. Sorted out my situation with a cafe that I did some work for - they hadn't paid me for the work I did, so I went in and saw them about it, after a month of me calling them 3 times and never got a call back. They paid me cash in hand. How much does money suck? It is literally impossible to go by with no income. Unless you live at home for the rest of your life.. the "life" you aren't living. I'm going to The Devil Wears Prada concert in October. It's only like $50 to see 3 bands, 2 being overseas bands, pretty worth it I must say. So many times lately, people don't expect me to be 19. I really don't mind either, God will age me gracefully. It's fairly late. Or early, depending on how you see it. Goodnight all - happy Tuesday!

i'm not sure if working in hospitality is really something for me. i know that i most definitely don't enjoy working for this particular cafe. being shifted over so many locations around the town, it's just frustrating. i'll end up going backwards in money if that's the case. i'm thinking of applying at either the photo lab in big w, a book shop..or somewhere. tree of life would be good because they're just airy-fairy and aren't rushed crazy horrible people that are in the retail side of work.
it's the second day of spring! and the good thing about living in tropical north queensland, is it's most definitely spring when it's the start of september. i'm spending the day relaxing, going to get a bit of a suntan with my sister at the beach, as i'm in much need of getting some natural vitamin d. maybe i can take some photos too, yes yes. drinking lots of water, fresh fruit, veggies.. almond spread on wholemeal toast for breakfast is a good start to my day i think.

^ that was from 2 days ago. since then, i have had a trial yesterday morning at this restaurant. and my experience was just great! all the people were lovely and helpful to me, even the chefs were so friendly! and i really enjoyed working there. almost too good to be true..

anyway. just did a massive clean up in the room i share with my sister. i haven't had to share a bedroom since i was 7. which is pretty good considering there is 5 of us kids. i have been going out to the beach, and on friday it was a beautiful day being super sunny and warm for the start of spring, which i'm glad we're getting into now. i'm getting more tan! if you don't know, i'm really pasty. have been for basically my whole life - in comparison to my family anyway. so now i'm gradually getting a natural tan. i'm not a big fan of fake tans to be honest. nothing beats the natural way. it's been the highlight of living back on the coast, the beach. even though the beaches here aren't all that amazing. and there's crocs sited and jelly fish season coming up.. that's the lame bit. how scary it would be to be attacked by a hungry crocodile while going out for an enjoyable beach day. i guess we're invading in their habitat.

i'm extremely tired. i haven't had that much sleep the past week. mainly due to anxiousness, boredom, work trials etc. and such. went to church this morning and it was really good. i cried. although i don't think there was a dry eye in the place though, there was a touching story of a couple and the struggle they went through with their disabled son as he lived his short life - which he wouldn't have been able to experience without the miracles and love of God. he couldn't talk, but his smile melted his mother's heart every time. the sermon today was based on relationships. that without love, we are nothing. and to always be expecting the best. if there is a gap between you and someone, if they told you one thing and you don't hear from them when you expect them, during that gap, don't expect the worse - don't get angry and build it up and think "wait till i see them.." and give it to them. approach them lovingly, not with bitterness and simply ask. "come to me first, and i will tell you the truth".

hello public diary. i handed out resumes on thursday. and got a call for an interview (just 2 hours after handing my resume into this place) for the next day (which, by the way went down smoothly). i now have a trial on monday. i think this was meant to be. it's a cute little cafe, called millie j & co. and they wear white collar t shirts with black ties. pretty snazzy. does anywhere these days still develop 120mm film?? it is so hard to find somewhere and it makes me a little sad that i can't get my last roll of film developed. oh well i'll just do it myself... the day i get my own dark room and get the tools for it. oh yeah. peanut butter m&m's are now always in my handbag. because i'm a fatty.

bring on october 27th. music music music with rachel jane. and the loml. AND several bags of peanut butter m&m's. that's the most exciting thing for me going to brisbane. and the atmosphere is just so much more different than here. just because you can walk down a street and no one will evil eye you or look you up/down. but other than that i'm not a huge city person. i like visiting the place, but i don't know if i can live in a big city.. i like the forest. cerise i'm bunking with you in melbourne one day! forest babies. photo taking.. ahh.

homesick sweet home

today i bought lolita (the novel). it's so dreamy so far, and i'm really looking forward to reading more and more. have you read it before? i moved to townsville yesterday, and half of my belongings are still with my parents which include my books, perfumes and documents (plus other bits and bobs). i honestly don't know if i'll be staying here for long. i feel sick in my belly. maybe just need some adjustments made. i'm not sure if i want to. i took a roll of film in to get developed and picking it up at half four. hopefully it turned out with some photos i like. i'm still upset about my damaged roll, so many good things were shot! oh well. i'm waiting for my sister to get home from picking up my nephew from school and hand me my frozen raspberry. the good thing about living in a humid climate is you never have to worry about dry skin. not me anyway. i honestly don't even want to be here right now. i just want to go in the mountains in a hut and seclude myself from society for awhile. keeping myself busy with a darkroom and baby cats and baby to play with. i miss more familiar faces. miss that good company that could make me feel better, and make me feel sooky too.. i do get sooky i know. and now i don't know what to do. maybe it's the exhaustion talking. mixed with dehydration. lack of motivation. hate feeling that way. i'll cease. happy monday all, have a great week.

lately, i've become disinterested in wanting fashion-wise things. maybe it's because i'm being really strict and saving up 3K+ for a new digital slr. but i'm ok with being like this. it means i don't spend my money on pointless worldly possessions. at least with a camera i can use it to my advantage. i recently got the yashica t4, and it is so great, cannot wait until i get the film developed. which reminds me, i am waiting to use up 2 other rolls of film! one from my diana and one from my yashica electro. i love film so much, but i really want to get back into digital photography also. so much to manipulate. my parents and i went to brisbane last thursday (came back early monday morning), and had a chance to go to maleny on sunday for the markets. it is so beautiful there, i want to go back there again sometime soon, so bad! i did manage to take some photos from the markets. it's times like these i wish i could just take a tonne of awesome photos on my analogue cameras and then i'd have a roll of film ready to go, but alas, that is not the case. my parents leave town in a couple of weeks, going to mt isa. i was really considering going with, but i think my heart lives here. but this means i have to be an adult and move out (for the first time for me) and know and trust that God has a plan. this all means that the removalists will be coming. my room is in a state that i cannot see the carpet. i've been meaning to clean up but i am after all, the queen of procrastinating. i wish i could write meaningful poetic text, but my prose is all i can give. i really want to get back into photography - i've been slacking off and feeling uninspired, as though i fell into a deep black hole. i just need to stay positive, and see the beauty in everything, life is precious!

moving on from that, i'm anticipating summer! less than a month away, and it's spring. i've already got ideas on what i want to do this summer. maybe i'll write a list up and post it here.. sounds like a good idea to me.

Going to Brisbane for a little holiday on Thursday. I'm actually really excited, quite spontaneous as it was only planned last week and I actually managed to get extra time off work for it. I haven't been there since October last year I believe - for the Paramore concert (which was terrible, so terrible, but Relient K were probably worth the $80) with my boyfriend. Anyway, I'm excited because of the visits I'll be making to the beauty counters in David Jones and Myer. And cafe visits for a soy chai latte, mm mmm. I haven't been this excited to go to Brisbane in quite a while, feels rather strange. Maybe because I'll actually have money to spend this time around. Travelling down with ma and pa and meeting my sister while there. Peanut Butter m&m's you will be ALLLLL mine! $14.00 a pop for a big bag is definitely worth it (I'll finally get my fix, Bronni B haha).

I also bought a Yashica T4 off eBay last week, coming all the way from the U.S. of A and I cannot wait to test it out when it arrives, seen and read so many good things about the little baby. I just hope it was worth 300 smackers... I already own a Yashica Electro 35 and am super happy with him. I just love film so much!

Oh and my pretty little bike is here and assembled, it is so smooth! I want to ride it all the time. It's at my boyfriend's farm though.

I'm getting a bike, woohoo! Thanks to my lovely boyfriend of course :)

This exact one, in this ruby red and it's even got a wee basket at the front and everything! One that I've always wanted. I can't wait until I have to move out of home and into town. This will be my number one source of travel! With the exception of grocery shopping and visiting the boy, when my car will be in dire need of that. Unless I'm just getting a few necessities from Woolies. I can't wait :) When the parts arrive, I'm going to be assisting him in putting it together to learn all about "the beautiful history and mechanics and art of bicycling" as Carl put it. He's cute. This is getting me quite excited for summer bike rides! Plus it'll mean I'm saving money on fuel, lowering my carbon footprint AND most important, it'll be exercise! Now I just have to find a pretty helmet. Silly Australia and making it illegal to ride without a helmet. There are NO nice looking helmets for women! Seriously none. If anyone knows of any to suggest, please, do tell!

On another note, I've been looking at a lot of beauty blogs as of late. And a few actually SELL their used products.. is it just me, or does anyone else think this is quite disgusting? Yeah, it's cheap and you may have only used it once or twice, but I'd much rather get my hands on brand new cosmetics, only opened by me and not containing any bacteria. You're pretty much buying the tester product! Sorry if you do this, but I think it's quite repulsive in my opinion. Beauty products: a thing you shouldn't buy second hand!

Tomorrow is my day off and I'm quite excited because.. well I love my days off. I am hoping I clean my room and ACTUALLY do it this time.

Ever since I remember (a young 'un) - like any little girl - I've always loved makeup, pretty dresses and perfume (especially the beautiful bottle/packaging). I've recently gone bananas and now am addicted to online shopping. I have a bad habit of buying stuff I've never tried before, too. But I figured if I don't like it I just won't use it and that's how I'll know if I like it haha. Albeit, I do look up reviews for the product/item before I whip out my debit card. Hopefully I get my stuff tomorrow and all the others throughout the week. I love getting my parcels! I really want to make a video tour of my room. Maybe when I clean my room and once I get all my goodies I will. I'm pretty tired. I love days off, alas it is back to work tomorrow. The past two weeks I have managed to get sick on my days off before I go back to work. This little patisserie looks so sweet. Alas, I am sick again though so I don't even feel like anything sweet, and usually I'm a real sweet-tooth type of girl - chocolate being my weakness. But the thought of food right now makes me feel queasy. I bought Marc Jacob's Lola EDP, I really like that perfume. Next I hope to get Daisy, Daisy Eau So Fresh, Chloe... all I can think of now. I'm obsessed with cosmetics at the moment. Although I don't wear a lot of make up.. I love lipsticks. Always have. When I was little, maybe 5 or so, my mum was talking to dad on the phone. She called out to me to come talk to him, me, saying WAIT, ran into my parent's room and came back to the talk on the phone and was wearing lipstick. I probably thought he could "see" that I was all prettied up for him. Haha. When my mum tell me stories of when I was little I just can't help but laugh and smile at just how darn cute I was :P Anyway. I guess I am feeling better now. In other news, I'm no longer going to Melbourne anymore (which was meant to take place on the 14th of July). It was a mistake to book my flight with Tiger, but oh well. At least I get a refund. If you don't know what I'm talking about just Google "Tiger Airways" and you should find what you are wondering in there. They say they'll be flying again ASAP, but I doubt that. I'm just looking through old Russh magazines, and how I adored them so! I miss the old Russh :( I need to get ready for work.. have a shower. It's going to be a big day! Facebook's gone. Decided not to get any tattoos now, so I cancelled my appointment in August. I'm relieved with that, because I change my mind so often with little things, and I'll just get sick of having a tattoo - and would rather just not do something so permanent in the first place, than to get it removed. I'm more unique having nothing on my skin, anyway. I haven't been feeling myself the past week, bad belly cramps and then today I felt yuck and have a long-lasting headache. Hope I feel better soon. Camomile and spearmint tea should work wonders. It's been a while since I updated this blog, but I just haven't felt the need to.. I guess there really isn't any need to anyway. Yesterday was the snap. When the cold decided to stay the whole day, to some it may have been terrible. But I love winter. These grey cold days are so nice, makes me think of England.

This right here (above), is the last big buy I spend my shoestring budget money on. It's beautiful! And cannot wait until I see it sitting in my mail box.

I am really determined though with saving my money. In August, I am moving. Interstate, with my sister. And I am making it happen, because I know I can do this. Also another thing I am determined with is my veganism. Been slacking in that department, although now I am feeling motivated to keep up with it. And I feel so good when I do too.

Sorry for my absence from Blogspot, I've been becoming more and more loyal to Tumblr now. Never saw that coming let me tell you that! But yes, I'm quite addicted.

Sweet potato coconut curry soup

I made this amazing recipe the other night. Was JUST delicious, plus it's vegan! Super good and warming soup for winter just around the corner too :)

Ingredients:

- 2 large sweet potatoes, pricked all over with a fork

- 1/2 cup coconut milk (I used lite)

- 1 cup vegetable stock

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- 1 tsp curry powder

- 1/2 tsp garam masala

- Pinch of cayenne pepper

- Chopped fresh cilantro (for garnishing - I skipped this though as it is not necessary)

Method:

- Preheat oven to 200 degrees (Celsius).

- Bake sweet potatoes for one hour or until very tender. Remove from oven and let cool. (I peeled my potatoes and cut them in half before I baked them and had them in vegetable oil.)

- Blend together sweet potato (minus the skin) and all other ingredients. Re-heat soup if necessary and serve with chopped cilantro on top.

Per serving: Calories 280, Fat 12, Carb 40, Fibre 6, Protein 5.

Just some photos I took on my mum's old Yashica. Photos date back to last year.. earlier ones anyway. Except the last photo was taken just the other morning. I really like how they came out. Except on my index print it shows that I have 22 photos.. but I only have 16 of them. Have to scope it out with the photo shop. Because they look pretty cool too. When or if I end up getting my lost photos back, I'll post them if they're any good. This was my first time using this camera too, without any knowledge or manual on how to use it, as it's a complete manual analogue camera. I think I got the gist of it though. The ISO on the film was 200 though. My next roll is 400 so maybe that'll help with the lighting. But yes! I really am pretty satisfied with the outcome. I was expecting it to be pretty lame haha. Let me know what you think? Or not. Whatever you please. I just like to hear people's feedback. Even though it's just for funsies :) xx

The Middle East, from Townsville (where I grew up most my life) are great. I saw them live when they were just new (plus got a photo with Rohin! The guy on the bottom left out of the first picture of polaroids), and now they've got a full-length album "I Want That You Are Always Happy" and I must say you MUST take a listen. If you like Fleet Foxes, these guys just may tickle your fancy. Soothing, calming and easily enjoyable. They're the kind of guys (and girl) that you can just listen to (even better through speakers than earphones) with a cup of tea, cosy with a book or just thinking, with your thoughts running wild. Especially good on a cool autumn morning. Superb..

I can't wait until they do a tour near me, count me in being there!

The Word For Today. (Monday May 2, 2011)

Practising Hospitality

'Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.' 1 Peter 4:9 NKJV

There's a story about a family who had the pastor over for dinner, and Mum asked their five-year-old to say grace. Puzzled, the child asked, 'What should I say?' Her mum replied, 'Just say what you've heard me say.' So, bowing her head, the little girl prayed, 'Dear God, why on earth did I invite the pastor over to dinner?' Let's be honest, hospitality is hard work. It involves sacrifice. And you are to 'do it ungrudgingly (cordially and graciously, without complaining...as representing Him).' (1 Peter 4:9 AMP) Who are you representing? God! That puts a new slant on it, doesn't it? Paul writes, 'Practise hospitality.' (Romans 12:13 NIV) Peter writes, 'Be hospitable...with brotherly affection for...unknown guests...foreigners, the poor, and all others.' (1 Peter 4:9 AMP) So, have you had any unknown guests, foreigners or poor folks over to dinner lately? A man conducting a church survey wrote to a nationally syndicated advice columnist, 'Of almost 200 churches I visited, I was spoken to in only one by someone other than an "official greeter"-and that was to tell me I was sitting in their seat!' It's easy to extend hospitality to people you know, but Jesus said, 'Why should God reward you if you love only the people who love you?' (Matthew 5:46 GNT) So, how about those you don't know? Those who don't fit in your social circle? Yes, you can find excuses-you're too busy, you don't want to get involved, and you're uncomfortable around strangers. But God says you represent Him, and that means sacrificing your personal agenda, giving of your time and money, going out on a limb for people you don't know or even like, and seeing others through God's eyes. That's practising hospitality!

Attention Melbournians!

(Or anyone else who knows the place well enough) I'll be paying a sweet visit in July for just under a week. I'm über excited too, believe you me! So, as I have never been to this supposed amazing place, I would like to hear your ideas on where to go, what to do, what good little cafes there are to scout, nice scenery.. I'm interested in the nature side of it more so too as well as the city side. I'm a little nervous, as I was supposed to be going with my sister, who has been there previously. But now something's happened and I'm going by my self! Luckily though, I know a few people there so I'm actually pretty excited to be going on my own. Then I can do all the things that I want to do. I am sleepy. Today (or yesterday, I should say now it being after midnight) was a big day. Both at work and at home. I feel like I accomplished a lot, in the process of giving my room a massive clean up. Including pulling everything out of my cupboard and scrubbing the surfaces and getting rid of stuff I've been hoarding.. I'm such a hoarder. But there's just some things that I definitely want. Even though possessions really aren't what is important. I just want stuff to give to my children, and my children's children, etc. I was away for Easter, in Toowoomba actually, for Easterfest. It was really good, until the second night of it flooding and resulting in the festival being cancelled. But it was a good experience. There was maybe about 40 or so of us staying at the Baptist church down there, and it was an adventure indeed. It was so good though, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And now I'm home, working, trying to slave away to save my hard-earned cash to pay for I-wish-we-didn't-need-cars expenses and my July holiday in Melbourne!

Let me just say, if you want a snack. Try this: get a slice of multigrain bread, spread wholegrain mustard all over, and place little slices of avocado. There you have it! I absolutely love it, and just happened to think of it, because I do love wholegrain mustard and avocado. Now I am addicted.

Oh, a band I really enjoyed seeing at Easterfest was Article One. They have a violinist, and he goes off. A really good band, I recommend hearing some of their stuff. Also really enjoyed watching Michael Paynter, check him out too if you already haven't.

I'm still vegan. Going on 2 weeks now. I am really actually enjoying it. I've seen such a difference in my energy and my physical appearance. I recommend doing it, just for a week or so even. It's a good change.
Anywho. I am exhausted. Off to beddy byes I go. Goodnight, hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week! :)

So since last Tuesday, I've decided to go vegan. Whoa. Yeah, but not a strict one as many would be. I'm not too entirely sure if the products I use for my skin or hair are animal cruelty-free, I'm quite frankly not too fussed about that. But I haven't been having any dairy products or chocolate - which is an amazing achievement for me because I used to eat so much chocolate, and I love cheese and milk so much too. Swapping my usual full cream milk for my chai tea with soy milk. And I really don't mind it either, it's pretty tasty actually. It's just a thing I'm going with because I am happy with changing my diet around, beneficially though. And I've already noticed a difference with my body, it's amazing how when you have the right mindset, thinking positively, you can acquire self-restraint and maintain a healthy diet. I'm not even sure how long this vegan run is going to last, I'm not going to set a date and stop doing it. I'll just keep doing it for as long as I feel like/want. It's crazy too, I realised that I used to just eat because I felt like it or was bored or even just a little bit peckish, but still ate more than what I needed. That's the big thing. People tend to just keep eating just because the food is there, rather than listening to their body telling them that it's no longer necessary, because you are in fact satisfied. Also I prefer eating things in their most natural form, like fruit and vegetables etc. and I haven't been drinking any other beverages other than water, juice or tea. Still not drinking alcohol, I just don't have the desire to drink it anymore. It doesn't taste nice. Just empty calories. And, makes you sick or feel like crap. Does to me anyway, I'm going to admit.

Everyone should read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis (it's definitely a recommendation), he's not there to try and convert you. Just tell you how it is.

This Friday I'm heading over to Toowoomba for the annual festival Easterfest. It's going to be amazing and I cannot wait. Probably will be the best festival I ever go to. Check it out here!

This is Your Anthem

GOD. The Father of Creation. Giver of life. Restorer of life. The beginning, the end, the middle. The whole shebang. (As apposed to Carl Sagan's Big Bang).

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children." Revelation 21: 1-7

Oh, the folly and arrogance of man, to believe there is no God; to occupy himself with disproving his existence; to seek to create his own God, in himself, his idols, his obsessions, his self sufficiency, his science, his technology, his partner, his parents, his job... And pity the poor man who doesn't know him, who has never heard his name, who has never needed him.

Reading the Bible, the official Word of God, we get a clear picture of God's character, though can one ever truly know the full extent of his doings, his wonders, his being? I think not.

Given that we messed up his GOOD AND PERFECT PLAN for the world (see Genesis; and thanks, Adam, thanks Eve), it's little wonder our natural inclination is to keep a safe distance from God (wrath, fear, doom!) and go about our merry way. That's a trap. Heard of Hell*? Yep, it's there. And it exists on earth (as in having one hell of an existence) and in eternity (damnation – eek, alright!).

BUT...

Thank GOD, thank GOD! for his grace and forgiveness and mercy, which he bestows on even those who choose to defy him and defile his name and deliberately disobey his good and perfect laws, exchanging a GOOD life for a FORSAKEN existence. His ultimate GIFT of grace? His Son Jesus Christ, through whom – and only whom, not by one's own power or might or good deeds; even Pollyanna needed Jesus – we are put right before God.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Ephesians 2:8)

God works in mysterious ways beyond our comprehension. BUT he also works through his Word (the Bible), the Lord Jesus' teachings, his Holy Spirit (which comes on those who accept him by faith), his church, and his people, so that we may, despite our fallible human-ness, know his wishes and his plan for us, his LOVE, his mercy, his grace, and, ultimately a better life here on earth – an awe-inspiring wonder in itself – and the comfort of knowing what's ahead when we, inevitably, die (Heaven – woo!).

We are all a part of his picture. He's in the driving seat. But we have to choose to take our hands off the wheel and let him lead us down the road to righteousness, atonement, salvation and a full and fruitful existence through his road rules. HE GAVE US CHOICE. HE GAVE US FREE WILL(Y).

"The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever." Isaiah 32:17

Many of us never give God a second thought because, frankly, life is happy-la-de-da, thank you very much, until something untoward happens and we're, like, 'What the?'. Others go through life collecting junk – bad relationships, crappy choices, accolades, addictions, weird ideas about how to do life (and who God is or isn't) – and come to a point where life is soooo very messy that they must unload or lose the plot and give up.

Others, still, are born into sucky circumstances through the fault of man (terrible parents, poverty, war times), or are dealt the kind of blows in childhood that creates a shield of steel, guarding them from anyone's love, let alone a God who would allow such things to happen, and/or walk around with seeping wounds so exposed as to make them unable to enjoy their life (restore them to dignity, He can!).

God has answers for everyone. He abandons no one. No matter how bad you've been; no matter how many hurts you harbour; no matter how many times you've heard him knock at the door and pretended no one was home.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7

The question is, are you prepared to leave behind what the world has made you, what you want to be, what the world tells you you should be – casting off the hurts that fuel your fire, the ambitions that drive your day, the habits that control your life – in order to make good on the awesome plan God has laid out for your life (which is better than you could imagine, though not without its own challenges)? That's a BIGGIE. That means losing control!!!!!

Not easy.

Again, that's why God has given you a bunch of tools to help you along your way, including the stories in the Bible that illustrate our Israelite and Christian forebears' experiences of God. But, more particularly, that's why he gave us Jesus Christ, who calls on us to pick up our cross and follow him.

He is the TRUTH, the WAY, the LIGHT to GOD. THE ONLY WAY TO GOD.

(Sorry to be all shouty, but this point cannot be stressed enough). BECAUSE... we are all sinners in God's eyes until we commit to follow Christ. Even those shiny-shiny wonderful people who are so good they emit flower-like scents from their pores. Without Jesus we are smelly/stinky/poopy to God.

"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:20,23

"For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him." John 5:22,23

The hardest part to get an intellectual grip on is the death of Jesus Christ. Like, why would God KILL his only Son; the most perfect man that ever walked the earth? The answer is within the Old Testament – check out how repulsive humankind can be and how far we all fall short of his laws! Jesus' death, scary and horrible as that was for him to bear, was the level of atonement God required for our sins.

"Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:5

God is patient, kind, compassionate... if we choose in our hearts to seek him, he will hear the call. He takes everyone's calls. God ain't no snob.

"For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:12

Not all of us will pass the test; Jesus – more so his resurrection, in which lies hope – won't be a revelation to all of us, nor the one we choose to follow. But when your eyes are opened, when you see Jesus for what and who he is and when you commit to following him – despite life's crappy seasons and crappy situations and the flack you will cop because of it – Jesus becomes your salve, your goal, your EVERYTHING; daily he washes away the selfishness that inhibits your relationship with your creator GOD, the source of true joy and peace, and strengthens you for righteous, joyful, confident living among man. You will want to please him above all, and in the process gain a perspective that without God you are so very, very small.

The purpose and meaning of life, Brian? Jesus lays it out straight:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37; Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27

How do you do that? This love thing. It's a toughie if your ideas of love have been warped by the world, but it's easy if you first understand that God loves you sooooo much that he laid out his very life on earth for you; with that thought embedded in your noggin and your heart, you will want to honour him with every fibre of your being and bring glory to him through your work, your life, your thoughts, your body, your obedience and your gifts, talents, money and blessings.

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Paul to the Ephesians 2:10

"Be careful to obey all these commands I am giving you. Show love to the LORD your God by walking in his ways and holding tightly to him." Moses to the Israelites, Deuteronomy 11:22

This generosity of heart and of spirit, of willing service to God and one's fellow man, in turn, makes life so very sweet; you become less stinky, more perfume-y. That can take time, depending on your level of obedience and willingness to give up what he tells you to it could take years/decades (the Israelites were 40 years in the desert!). But you can't out-plan God. And if you stumble and fall along the way?

"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation." James 1:12

God is still there, in his infinite grace, and is willing to accept your transgressions in Jesus' name (you can't out-do Jesus), but Jesus himself calls on us to turn from sin and follow him in his ways, trusting that he will be blessed. God, should you choose to accept Jesus, will remake your life from the inside out. And you can enjoy a relationship with him in all your days.

"Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him." Psalm 2:12

THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE? You bet.

*What of his children, you ask. Do the ones taken from us very young wind up in Hell if they do not know Jesus? I don't think so. Jesus loved the kiddies. He wanted us all to be like children – nimble of mind and open of heart and clear of conscience. Said Jesus: "I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven... Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." God is fair and just, judging each of us according to our moral understanding. I got really bored and wanted to take photos. The first picture is from yesterday, and the second one just a moment ago. I have an obsession with head accessories, namely beanies and hats. But I never find a good time to wear my hats. Anywho, both the photos were taken when I had just pretty much woken up, no makeup, tired look on my face and you can see my pig-sty of a room in the background. I love it how I wake up at least an hour before my alarm clock goes off, it's a really good feeling for me. Oh, and my latest music obsession is Blue Roses, check them out. I still have your old shirt, you know the one I said I had thrown away; I put it on when I went to bed last night.

I've (somehow, unashamedly too) been listening to The Veronicas' Hook Me Up album today. I used to love that album. I used to love them.

On another note, I'm pretty stoked to be able to see my breath in front of my at night outside. I love love love winter. I got my Miss Dior Cherie perfume finally, and it smells oh-so-sweet. Maybe my new signature scent, although I still am a loyal lover of Coco Mademoiselle (my most favourite perfume). I now have a new favourite drink! It's grapefruit and tangerine iced tea, it's a swell hot day's treat for me. Albeit, it's now getting into winter. I'll still get it any chance I get hah. I'm actually now home from a trip to the far north-west part of QLD, to The Isa for a funeral (for my grandad). It involved a lot of people crying, food, laughter, catching up with relatives and of course, driving. 14 hours of it to be precise. Me and my sister discovered a cute-as-pie little gift shop though, Bella Duck, and I could literally live there. I bought a forest berry fruit spread from there, a babushka-printed tea towel (for my sister, as a sorry gesture) and a rose flavoured turkish delight (for the mother, because I love her lots). All came to the price of how much the tea towel was marked as ($18.95!!) because it was actually reduced to $7.95. So I was super stoked with that buy. Must have meant to be. I actually really don't mind that town, I probably wouldn't like the summer heat so much. But the winter there is intense (that I wouldn't mind), all in all I don't mind it at all. Especially to visit my grandmother.

Bordering Dangerline

I know I said that I'd try blog as much as I possibly could, but clearly that didn't work. I did want to, I felt like it.. But I just didn't feel the motivation for it. I guess that's good. I'd rather not spend any more time online than I already do (especially on my holidays) just to blog anywho. While I was in Townsville I went to church on the Sunday and I enjoyed it, although I expected a little more than under an hour of service. The preacher was from Sunshine Coast, and he really captured the church with his liveliness, and he talked about the four faces of Jesus and how He's absolutely everywhere, not simply just literally (is "literally" the right word to use?), but in our lifestyle, our culture and He is in the media. References on The Simpsons, South Park (usually used in blasphemy; oh how I detest South Park), musical lyrics (possibly the most intellectual words that have left Kanye West's mouth: "Jesus walks..."), fashion (Jesus is my homeboy, anyone?), and there's plenty more that I can't think of right this second. An annoying thing to me though is rosary beads. People use/wear them as a fashion statement, and I can assure you that the majority of those people aren't using it in a recognition to Jesus Christ. Wearing crucifixes around your necks/on your fingers (unless you SINCERELY are wearing it for the purpose of your faith).. Religion is not a fashion. Jesus, is not a religion; he is our saviour. He was crucified for our sins, so that we could be forgiven, to renew and cleanse our contaminated hearts. And we're making a joke out of it with, fashion. Idolatry is another problem. Putting anything (keyword: anything) above God, is worshipping it. When I was younger I would be obsessed with a celebrity or band, or tv show. To the point it's classified as idolising them/it. I didn't think anything of it, I was just a huge "fanatic" (what I thought anyway). Same with games, drugs, anything you feel you can't live without (sustenance being the exception), and if it's not our God, it's not worshipping Him, therefore it's practicing idolatry. It is unbelievably amazing what the power of prayer can do, yet when we desperately need it, we sometimes it's an option. Anyway, I'll bid you farewell now, end of my preach for the time being. In any circumstance, think WWJD.

I'm heading off to Townsville very shortly in the coming hours. I wish we had left earlier so we could possibly arrive before night time. I'm making it my goal to try and blog as much as possible while I'm away too, I'm not taking any digital cameras. Just my Diana and disposables, so I will be keen for the pictures to come out of those. Plus, I still have a roll of 120 film I'm yet to get developed, and I know a place in Townsville where I can get it developed, so I'll be able to see how they turn out too. Even though I didn't have a good customer service the last time I tried to go there, the lady was very unpleasant. Maybe she won't be there. Oh well. Anyway. I'm craving a fat-filled hot dog this morning, with onion, cheese, tomato sauce and mustard. Yummo. I think I may need to pay a visit to Donut King before we go or something. I'm gonna finish up this Toowoomba lamington now, we're almost ready to go. Blog soon. xx

International Women's Day

I wish I could suit this.

So I leave tomorrow to Townsville for 2 weeks. Visiting family, especially for my sick grandpa. I won't get into a downward spiral about it though, I don't like to broadcast private information on this public journal. All I ask is for your thoughts and prayers for him. Anyway, 2 weeks off will suck (financially) because I'm still working as a casual. So no holiday pay, no nothing. Hopefully I'll be able to be as frugal as much as I want to be! Wish me luck. My next few big purchases I want to invest in though, are: a new (good) guitar, so that I can properly learn it and get good at it. And the second is a good SLR. I absolutely love film. All my film photographs at the moment are just from disposable cameras, I do love them though, I go crazy for the sort haha. They just have a different, unique effect that I've always admired with their slightly blurred edges and vignette. These may have to wait until after my trip down to Melbourne in July (WHICH by the way, the flights are booked, next on the list is accommodation). I also really need to save save save if this Japan trip is definitely going through, I do really want to be able to make it for New Year's. Right now though, I'm drinking up the rest of my tea, dreading having to get ready for work in an hour. I don't mind it if I'm already all equipped with my work clothes and bathed and such, it's just the getting ready part that I don't like haha. Anyway, I hope you all are having a super week and enjoy what else is yet to happen, and let it be joyous and frivolous (frivolous, to an extent). xx

Spring Cleaning Your Soul

7 New Year's resolutions (for Christians). I know it's already 3rd month into the year, but it's still just as inspiring to live by day to day. (Source: click here)

Out with the old, in with the new! Here are seven things to get rid of in the new year:

1) Replace Pride with Humility.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. (Psalm 25:9)

2) Replace Anger with Self Control.

An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. (Psalm 22:9)

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

3) Replace Unbelief with Faith.

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:12-13)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

4) Replace Revenge with Forgiveness.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. (Romans 12:17-19)

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)

5) Replace Complaining with Praise.

Do everything without complaining or arguing. (Philippians 2:14)

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased (Hebrews 13:15-16)

6) Replace Wicked Thoughts with Pure Thoughts

The things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ‘unclean.’ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(Matthew 15:18-19)

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)

7) Replace Gossip with Encouragement.

Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down. (Proverbs 26:20)

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:29-32)

Just listening to them makes me feel better actually. I've chosen to give some things up, for the better. My choice to give up living for other people's happiness and to start living for Him. And I'm content with the sacrifices I have to make to make it happen.

Listening to Eisley in the air-con. I made another Facebook yesterday, and then deleted it within 24 hours. It's just really, really not doing it for me. I hate it, it's really boring and is just a useful tool to gossip and talk crap and spam people's feed with "Likes". I'm in a mood of doing creative stuff. Make some collages, use my oil pastels, water colours and acrylics.. If only I was any good at doing it haha. I did glue a piece of doily paper and put a ribbon around our honey jar though, I have the picture to prove it too.

I don't really know what else I can say here. But I'm super tired and I hate it because it's 2pm! Have a super weekend.

So I got my Diana film back, only about 7 got developed though because of my silliness of opening up the back before it was all rewound. There was probably only 2 decent pictures out of the bunch anyway and I don't think they're even worth scanning and putting up haha. I just worked my butt off at lunch setting up for a function for 80 people, and hurrying after to prepare for tonight in the kitchen. Now, I am just so exhausted and wish I could just have a nice nap that can go for as long as I want it to, and when I wake up is when I'll go to work, that would be good. I still need to clean my room! At least today is my Thursday, one more day and then two days off. Hopefully I can get some things done during that time like wash and vacuum my car, and clean my room out to make it simply immaculate.. I bought my dear new frankie addition, now to find some time to read it. Possibly tonight after work. It just seems that I keep adding things to do on my "To Do" list, it's become overwhelming! But I feel super good about cutting back on impulsively buying unnecessary magazines. I guess all magazines are technically unnecessary unless they serve a purpose to do with your health or wellbeing, but in my case it's an overload in plain fashion and lifestyle magazines. So now the only one I will buy out of my own money is frankie, I still have subscriptions to yen, GRAZIA and RUSSH, but I think yen is the only one out of those three I'll continue with subscribing to. It's funny because it ends up costing more to subscribe to frankie than just buying the issues for the amount of time the subscription goes for.. so I just stick to doing that. Anyway, this has become a long boring blob of nothing to some of you.

I'm kind of over a lot of my music at the moment. Anyone care to share and list me a bunch of music they're liking or listening to a lot lately? I like fresh new ideas especially related to music. Love to hear from yous :) xx

Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken

I'm soon off to work. New frankie is out today, keen to have that in my hot little hands. Also my film will be done by the time I'm finished work this afternoon, I'm anticipating how they'll turn out and hopefully if there's some good ones I will scan them and post them up here. Health kick again! Raw food diet/vegetarian. And then soon I'll be back into my exercising regimen, hoping to lose my baby fat and get fit again! Also, I feel really fantastic not having any alcohol for almost a month now. It really is just empty calories, and doesn't make me feel good in any way whatsoever. I'd rather feel amazing with being sober and my body and liver will thank me in the long run too! I will be back later on today to post more :) I just really wanted to do a morning update because I'm feeling pretty good. Also, I'm keeping my hair out of my face and not wearing any makeup. It feels like my skin can really breathe now and will hopefully become more and more clear. My skin does tend to break out a lot more when I haven't been taking a lot of care in regards to my diet. I love going healthy food shopping. And I really like eating nuts; cashews, almonds and walnut mix is a favourite! Well, I best be off now. Happy Wednesday!

Today I used up the rest of my 35mm film on my Diana but when I finished with it I couldn't figure out how to rewind it all back up and opened the back with the film still laid across, so I really hope it didn't ruin ALL of my film otherwise I'll be pretty devastated and annoyed. Hopefully only the last few frames are ruined because I was just mucking around to waste it up so I can finally go get the film developed haha. Lately everything I eat makes me feel sick/bloated, unless I just eat salad, which I don't mind because I love salad. I have been telling myself pretty much everyday that today will be the day I clean my room up, but that was last week.. I really do want to clean it up and rearrange everything again, but I just don't have enough motivation. It rained today, absolutely bucketed down when I was at work, I could even smell it. I love really heavy rain when I'm inside. I am really liking Camera Obscura too, lately.

Hello, Again, Friend of a Friend

I wish I knew what brand these Chukka shoes were exactly, I want them so badly!

I bought season 1 and 2 of Mad Men on DVD, so I've been eager to watch that, plus I'm still waiting on my Mere Christianity book by C.S. Lewis to arrive in the mail. It's shipped over from the U.K. so I suppose I have to bear with that, maybe later on this week hopefully.

Went to Rocky on Monday and bought some new things. I bought a pair of Chambray Gypsy Roll Hem Chino pants, reduced 3 times, got them for $19.95 from $79.95! Bargain. Also another bargain hunted was my khaki Rib Linen Short purchase. And another couple of purchases from Sportsgirl included my white stripe on black sneakers and a mini metallic black sequin shoulder purse, as requested from one of my sisters, all of them being on sale too! I tend to like more of the things on sale in Sportsgirl though.. which is awesome for my wallet! I also made a trip to Barkins and found a stellar clutch/handbag. All black leather exterior and with some embellishments added to it. Which funnily enough was also on sale! I also couldn't resist but buy some ribbon from Spotlight. Colour: "Apricot", just for my hair. And I bought a silicone iPod protector case because my new iPod is already visibly scratched up.

I enjoyed a pleasant lunch with my mum at Coffee Club that day, ate quiche Lorraine with salad and had chai tea. The tea was pretty milky but it tasted pretty yummy. I've never actually had a tea from somewhere, brought out to me in a little teapot. So that was nice. All on my day off.

In other news, me and my sisters will be making a trip down to Melbourne in July to trek around and soak in all the apparent loveliness of the city. They've both been there, but I'm yet to experience the so-called amazing place. I can tell I'll love it already. I know a girl who lives there, a couple of people I know over the internet, and we've been so excited for to one day be able to meet and talk! In real life haha. So she'll be showing me the go-to places whilst there. I can't wait.

Nutella and Peanut Butter sandwich with a glass of milk to wash it down, is the most best snack/combination ever! It combines all of my favourite things into one... or maybe it's two, seeing as though it consists of a sandwich AND a drink..?

Anyway. I've been listening non stop to TDWP. I plan on going to one of their next shows they make down to Aus.

A lot of magazines lately are extremely boring to me. Frankie seems to still be the only one which I adore more and more with each issue. Yen comes up there too. But that's about it. A lot of "fashion" dedicated magazines bore me. It's generally the same thing with each issue. And I'm over "art" brought into the industry. I want quality and simpleness; not diehard, try-hards forcing something down my throat. And I'm not all that interested in celebrity gossip either, so GRAZIA has become a no-longer-interested-in mag, I've never really liked weekly tabloids anyway.

I bought Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis yesterday because Angus and Robertson are having another one of their online specials, and I have been interested in seeing what this book is like.. seems to be pretty great though. I also bought myself a much-needed new iPod touch, as mine is a bit stuffed up because I spilt Red Bull over it and parts of the screen you can't "touch", plus 8GB just doesn't cut it. 32GB, now that's something!

It's 2am, and I'm tired as, but I don't want to go to bed. I feel all exhilarated. I guess I feel a bit like that when I make online purchases because I'm super excited for its arrival.

I've recently grown a big love for (and been listening to a lot of) The Devil Wears Prada (the band, that is) they're metalcore and Christian. Their lyrics are so pure and well-written and honest. I've always liked metal, just listen to it sporadically.

I go away in 2 days (Friday), heading down to the Gold Coast for the Big Day Out on Sunday and come back on the Monday. I'm not even really excited actually, just excited to be getting a bit of a holiday, seeing as I haven't gone away since October. Yesterday (Tuesday) was so weird, I went to work thinking it was Wednesday, I was befuddled.

Tegan & Sara. The latest album from the twin duo is amazing. I have loved these girls for a long time, and their newest release "Sainthood" does not disappoint.

As told by the lead singer of TDWP, he has seriously an amazing musical critique and his way with words on describing just gob-smacks me:

No Need to be Pessimistic

Seriously, some people need to lighten up! It's a new year, new decade, and this is a the first day to that. So what if it's just another year. You should make this a mission to challenge yourselves and grow up, and be more optimistic! The past week for me has been hectic. The crazy floods that Central Queensland has brought on us, flooding out our house and now I'm in the midst of getting my room back in order - waiting for the carpet to fully dry up. It's good though, now I can have a clean room! Hah. I had a scare that my Macbook stopped working. It just wouldn't turn on. But I've found out that it does indeed work, when it's propped on my desk. Which is funny, because I never use it elsewhere, besides the other day when I had no room on my desk to put it. Anywho, I was super worried that my $2K laptop had just stopped working on me, but now, I'm super happy it isn't. I spent my New Year's Eve working lunch and dinner, and afterwards snuggling up inside watching Fiddle On The Roof with my friend. Much better in comparison to how I spent my last year's New Year's. I don't really have any resolutions for the year.. besides just what I always strive for. Trying to keep a healthy lifestyle, look for fun and adventure. Oh, and spend less.

So yeah, that's my big week. Just blurted out there. Hope everyone else had a terrific week and New Year!

Summer, oh summer. This heat is unbearable. But it sure does make me appreciate summer antics a lot more! I want to go play in the sprinklers, munch on icy-poles, ride around through the breeze, do cartwheels, eat juicy summer fruit, have tea parties, go on adventures, take heaps and heaps of pictures.. It sounds so delightful, I'm already excited!

I LOVE BARKINS! And, I love that my sister works there and gets 20% off... seriously, I had no idea how much I loved that place until just earlier, talking to my dear sister on the phone for ages. I think the store was made for me. I think I may actually like it even more than Sportsgirl, I never thought I could love a shop more so just for every basic garment of clothing as much as I do right now - and it's all at an affordable price, for good quality and style. I'm giving my sister a big long list of clothes I want her to buy me (with my money, I doubt she'd be willing to splurge probably hundreds of dollars on me, ha!) and then when my mother comes back, just cart it all back home with her. Times like these I love my family even more :) I even love the shopping bags that the purchases come in from there. Just, everything about the place, is me written all over. She tells me that she sees something in the store, and will go, "Oh, she'd love that!" and I love that she knows me so well! What else is awesome, we have similar taste, same size foot, and (usually) same size in general.. when our bodies aren't yoyo-ing that is. Collaborating all our possessions into one home will just be, oh it will be just amazing! Magazines, books, movies, music, clothes, crafts, furniture and just altogether prettiness, I'm getting so excited about living with her now thinking about it! Right now, living like Audrey Hepburn à la Breakfast At Tiffany's.. as if she'd just moved in, when in fact she'd been there for just over a year wouldn't even be so bad - I wouldn't even care.

Wow. 12:40am. I'm super tired, and not entirely sure if any of this made much sense, I'm too tired to proof-read it. I can see that there's no spelling errors so that's all I'm concerned about at this moment :) Have a good weekend! xx

The Japanese Do It Better. I have always been a fan of the crazy Harajuku street styles. They can pull it off so well too, so courageous. Their cool confidence is what helps I think, in making it look cool. I honestly think they're the most stylish culture.. in the kooky sense. I like that they're completely over the top, and unnecessary, having no practicality. But I'm not one of those girls/boys that are in love with the Japanese culture as a whole to the point one of my hobbies is drawing my own manga-style pictures and watch anime. No, I just really like their crazy fashion. And I can't wait, summer in Japan 2011! Will be fun I hope! xx
